Christianity is the most popular religion in the world, with more than 2 billion followers. Many of the largest churches in the world are Christian, including the Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, and Mormon churches. Christianity is also the largest non-Muslim religion in the world; according to the Pew Research Center, Christians make up about 33% of the global population.

There are over 4,500 religious establishments in the world, so you’d expect them to be just as popular. In fact, some can have millions of followers, while others have none at all. If you’re interested in learning more about the most popular churches in the world, we’ve compiled a list of the top 10 largest churches in the world.

WESTMINSTER ABBEY, London, UK.

If you’re looking for a church to worship at, you may be surprised to find that there are more than just a handful of religious venues in the UK. One of the most popular is located in London, at a beautiful building called Westminster Abbey. It’s a place where royalty and nobility have been laid to rest, and it’s where you’ll find the tombs of many famous historical figures.

The world’s most famous church, Westminster Abbey is just a short walk from the Houses of Parliament, the Houses of Parliament, the Churchill War Rooms, the British Museum, and the National Gallery. Built on the site of the Abbey of St Peter and St Paul, the current church was founded in 1065. The abbey was destroyed by fire in 1512 but was rebuilt. In 1834, the site became a cathedral, and the current Gothic-style building was consecrated in 1876.

ST PAUL’S CATHEDRAL, London, UK.

St Paul’s Cathedral is the mother church of the Anglican Communion, located on the north side of The City of London, where Paul’s body was entombed after his death. The present building dates from the mid-18th century and it was designed by Sir Christopher Wren. You may recognize St Paul’s as the location of the Millennium Dome, the 88-acre structure that held the world’s biggest concert in 2000.

The Anglican church is one of the world’s largest Christian denominations, with over 80,000 members, served by more than 1800 parishes across the UK and Ireland. Famed for its architecture, including the beautiful Dome, it is also renowned for its worship, based on the Book of Common Prayer, and the liturgy.

CHURCH OF THE NATIVITY, Bethlehem, Palestine.

The Church of the Nativity (also called the Church of the Nativity or The Nativity) is a Christian church in the West Bank city of Bethlehem, in the Palestinian territories. [1] It is located near Bethlehem’s Manger Square and is the site of the Christmas miracle of Jesus’ birth, where, according to Christian tradition, Mary and Joseph arrived from Nazareth to find the newborn Jesus, wrapped in cloth, lying in a manger. The church is renowned for its architecture and decoration and has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2000.

CHURCH OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE, Jerusalem, Israel.

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is the holiest site in Christianity, where Jesus was buried and resurrected after three days, as God commanded. The church sits on the holiest site in Judaism since it is the place where Abraham was buried and the place where the first temple was destroyed. The church is also a place where the Old Testament was written, and the New Testament was translated. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre was the site of Jesus’ last supper with his disciples. It is believed to be built on the site where Jesus was crucified.

SAGRADA FAMILIA, Barcelona, Spain.

For over a century, the Sagrada Familia church has been under construction in Barcelona. A place of worship, housing over 30,000 people, the Sagrada Familia is one of Barcelona’s most famous landmarks. It is constructed in a Byzantine style with a dome above. It was begun in 1882 and was designed by architect Antoni Gaudi—who is a favorite of many around the world.

The Sagrada Familia is a large cathedral located in Barcelona. The total cost of the building was around 2,000,000 Euros. Construction started in 1882 and was completed after some 50 years. The church is very visible from almost all the points of the city of Barcelona. The body of the church is built in the Neo-Gothic style. The basilica was designed by the renowned architect Antoni Gaudí, hence the nickname “The Cradle of Modernism” or “La Sagrada Familia”.

SAINT BASIL’S CATHEDRAL, Moscow, Russia.

In the Russian Imperial Boulevard (Moskva Ulitsa) there is one of the most beautiful churches in the world. It is called Saint Basil’s Cathedral. In the city, there are many more churches and cathedrals, but few of them can be compared to Saint Basil’s. It is a cathedral of the highest level. The nearest subway station is “Park Kultury”.
